We walked through the door of the mausoleum and Scorch was not with us. His backpack was with us, but no little firebug. We were down to three as we had no idea where Oberon ran off too. We lit the nub of the candle – only one more use after this and I think it won’t be enough. There is too many to get through to make it to the citadel. Even though the candle makes my body feel rested I am exhausted. I am worried about Scorch and Oberon and if that demon will still be there and we will all spiral in madness. I think of Onapegro and how we will defeat a goddess and her undead sister, when we can barely fight our way through the city. I hide all my worries and sharpen my blade as Pinroy redraws the door.
We step out of the ruined house and see Oberon leading a group of barbarians against a horde of Orcs, but no Scorch. We don’t have time to look for him as we are thrown into battle once again. Oberon is still very mad and thinking we betrayed him. Pinroy is able to cure him while Chillax lays waste to the orcs and Barbarians. The demon that loved to throw around madness is gone but his flying one-eyed spying buddy is here. Chillax thinks he is controlling everyone from his perch on the balcony in the Inn. Lumbering down the street toward us was a giant size abomination. Horns protruding from his head and shoulders and what look like it’s intestines were dragging behind it. As he walked, he would pick up dead bodies and stuff them into his oozing body as if he was rebuilding himself. Atop his head holding on to a horn was what was a smaller humanoid creature that seemed to control him. In front of them was a three-headed dog that the abomination was holding the end of chain.
We ran toward the Inn – Oberon and Pinroy on the inside, Chillax and I on the outside. The one-eyed demon flew away right when we got to him, but I jumped off the balcony onto the top of the abomination, Oberon only a misty step behind.
Pinroy stayed close making sure we were near enough for his healing. While Chillax kept the abomination incapacitated, Oberon and I whaled on his master, and he fell to our blades. Oberon went to take care of the doggy while I tried to control the abomination – but one-eye would not have it and I found myself inside the abomination stomach. Now, I have been in very tight spots before and have seen many scary things since leaving the City of Warmth prisons, but never, and I mean NEVER, do I want to be inside the stomach of a thing that heals himself with dead bodies. I stabbed from the inside hoping to carve my way out but eventually he knew he bit more than he could chew and spit me out.
Chillax tried to incapacitate it but instead it snatched him out of the sky and ate him. But Chillax, being much cooler than me, simply appeared on the balcony a few feet away. The abomination seemed to lose interest in us and wandered away stuffing the dead into his body. Oberon took care of the dog, and we all went after one-eyed and were able to bring him down. Pinroy told us he could see a mountain in the distance and looked like a keep built into it. That must be where we destroy the staff.
We take off running heading to the mountain and hoping Scorch is already there.
